I built NZ Aerospace Directory to make it easier to find out who does what in New Zealand aerospace. It brings together organisations, what they work on, where they operate, their announcements and their open roles.

This is an independent project that I plan to keep developing over time. Coverage is growing as organisations and their sources are checked.

What goes in

The directory covers space, advanced aviation and aerospace technology: manufacturers, specialist suppliers, research groups and test infrastructure operators. Each organisation needs sources that show both its work in these areas and a New Zealand presence before it is listed.

Travel businesses, airlines, hobby shops and drone photography businesses fall outside that scope unless they also have a relevant technology capability backed by a source.

Where the information comes from

Profile details come with quotes and links to their sources, usually the organisation's own website. Automated checks compare extracted details with those quotes and check that the quotes appear on the source pages. Each profile shows when its sources were last checked.

Some classifications are decisions I make by hand. These are marked as editorial, with source links where I have used them. Locations need a source that says the organisation has a presence there. If a location is not stated in the checked sources, the profile says so.

How listings are ordered

Organisations are listed alphabetically. There are no rankings, scores, paid placements or endorsements.

Updates

Updates come from the organisations' own announcements. Summaries are written and checked automatically against quotes from the source, and each update links to the original.

Dated updates use the publication date stated by the source. If that date is missing, the card says so and shows when the update was added to the directory.

Jobs

Jobs are collected automatically from the organisations' own careers pages and job boards, without AI. Each card links to the full listing the employer points to, which may be on an external job site. Applications go through that listing.

Each time the directory is updated, it includes only open roles seen within the previous 14 days. Cards show when each role was last checked. A posting date is shown when the employer provides one; otherwise the card shows when the directory first saw it.

Regions

The region filters use New Zealand's 16 regional council and unitary authority areas. An organisation appears under a region when its checked sources place it there.

Overseas locations on the globe use GeoNames data, licensed under CC BY 4.0. The world outlines come from Natural Earth.

Corrections and suggestions

If you spot something wrong, an outdated detail or an organisation I should look at, get in touch. A link to the relevant page and a source for the correction will help me check it.
